Danilo L. Panes
President

As Isla Gran Viento’s President, Danilo L. Panes brings four decades of engineering expertise combined with leadership and innovation experience.

Panes started his career with the Philippine Bureau of Mines and Geo-Sciences in 1978, where he developed skills in project evaluation, policy formulation, research, safety, and investigation. Afterwards in 1989, he joined the private sector as a Senior Mining Engineer for Surigao Consolidated Mining Company Inc. Panes went on to managerial and leadership positions in Basic Petroleum and Minerals Inc. and Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. (now Phinma Development Corp). He spearheaded renewable energy projects across these institutions and, most recently, was VP of Renewable Energy at Phinma and Vice President of Wind Operations at AC Energy, the energy arm of the Ayala Corporation.

Panes graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mining Engineering from Mapúa University as a government scholar. He completed his Management Development Program (MDP) with superior performance award at the Asian Institute of Management and obtained an MBA from De La Salle University.

George B. Campos
Marketing & Communications

With almost four decades of experience, George B. Campos brings his expertise in the renewable energy and electricity sectors to Isla Gran Viento.

Campos started his career in Manila Electric Company as an engineer and subsequently held roles as Energy and Service Head and Service center head. After his stint in Manila Electric Company, he moved to Meralco Energy where he was a Business Manager and Acting President & Operations Head. Most recently, he was Director and General Manager of Miescor and Miescor Builders, a subsidiary of Meralco that focuses on building energy structures across the Philippines. Campos also holds a membership in Society of Philippine Electrical Contractors and Suppliers and a lifetime member of Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from St. Louis University and an Executive MBA from the Asian Institute of Management.

Edmund P. Teh
Finance & Business Development

As VP of Finance, Edmund P. Teh brings almost three decades of consulting experience across the private and public sectors. He worked in the chemicals industry (flavors and fragrances), raw materials for food & beverage, and real estate.

For primary and secondary school, Edmund attended Xavier School. He pursued further studies at Ateneo de Manila University (Interdisciplinary Studies) and Menlo College (Biotech Management).

John James M. Vitan
Operations

John James M. Vitan has a built a career ensuring that energy projects and structures are of the highest calibre.

A licensed engineer, Vitan entered the industry as a Technical Services and Projects engineer, at Philippine Electric Corportation (PHILEC) specializing in installation and service engineering. After a stint in power plant installation at First Holdings International, Saudi Arabia, Vitan returned to PHILEC to lead Central Quality Assurance. Recently, he’s been VP & Head of Engineering at FEDCOR, VP & Head of Business at ATEA, and President at Airenergy and Renewables Inc. Vitan also lectures on Transformer Engineering, Electrical Power System Operations and Maintenance, and Protective Relaying at the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers.

He holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of the Philippines, Dilliman.

Jose Luis Echávarri
International Affairs

Jose Luis Echávarri is a Senior Director in the Renewable Energies industry with 16+years of experience in initiating, implementing, and completing utility scale energy projects. Leading contract management and works execution of EPCs and Installation contracts of more than 700Mw in 15 different countries across 4 continents. He has worked in institutions like Siemens Gamesa and Rubrica Philippines. Exemplary track-record of conducting complex negotiations, developing tenders for works, and maintaining strong B2B relation with customers and sub-contractors to determine and execute contracts within the deadline and scope of work. Proficient ability at directing and building high performance teams, resource allocation, and budget management to achieve higher goals and targets with multidisciplinary task approach.
